Fix Registry Problems
Over time your Windows registry fills up with hundreds of unnecessary entries. These include references to files that no longer exist, leftovers from long-removed programs, and invalid entries. Some of the causes of registry errors can be if you frequently install/uninstall programs, if you delete software that has never been fully uninstalled, embedded spyware, recent hardware install/uninstall, or unused drivers that have not been uninstalled. Symptoms of registry problems are: errors, sudden crashes, system stalls, or brutal deprivations in operating speed.

Spyware
Spyware applications are programs hidden surreptitiously on your computer without your knowledge or permission. These programs allow hackers and other degenerates to track your every move, whether you are online or not. They keep track of web sites you visit, things that you buy online, emails sent and received, and worst of all in exceptional cases they can even record your credit card information. Causes of having spyware can be surfing the internet without having adequate spyware protection on your computer and/or not scanning a P.C. on a regular basis. Symptoms that you have spyware are slow connection speeds (this is usually the first symptom), your homepage changing without your permission, and loss of internet and/or the functionality of other programs.

Defragmentation
Through time the file sytem on a hard drive is unable to maintain a contiguous (sequential) file system for reasons that we will not go into here. The file system fragments; for instance part of a program may be at the beginning of the disk and part of it may be in other locations. What is important to know is that for a computer to run optimally it must have defragmentation done regularly to put the file system back together contiguously (sequentially in order). The causes of fragmentation of a file system can be, but are not limited to, installing new programs, uninstalling programs, and believe it or not, time itself causes fragmentations. Symptoms that a system is fragmented are slow system performance, updates go real slow, system freezes, programs running slowly, slow back-ups, to name a few.

Remove Invalid Shortcuts
Invalid shortcuts can be a pain. You can have them on your desktop, your quick launch bar, start menu, or even in history list. The main cause of invalid shortcuts is that the user decides to move, delete, or uninstall the file that the shortcut is pointing to. Having these on your system can cause multiple problems. One of the symptoms of this could be when you click on "all programs" from the start menu and your programs come up ridiculously slow, while everything else on the computer still seems to be going fast.

Delete Temporary Files & Folders off your system
Temporary files can ravage a hard drive.  The main cause of this is Web browsers, Windows, and application programs store temporary files on your hard disk to save settings or data for a short time. Many programs do not clean up after themselves, thus leaving unused and empty  files and folders;  leaving mounds of useless data taking up room on your system .  Symptoms: unexplained loss of disk space.
